Under the mission the "EFKO ALMATY" representatives, the largest processor of oilseeds in the Republic of Kazakhstan, held a presentation of the company and its products – vegetable oils and meals, got acquainted with the economic situation in the market, the needs of potential buyers, took part in negotiations with potential buyers and management of the Association of oilseed crops, and evaluated the potential of international cooperation.

According to Konstantin Simonov, General Director of LLP "EFKO Kazakhstan" (part of the international EFKO Group), the trade mission to Iran was successful: "Iran is one of the largest importers of oilseeds and their products in the middle East. In the first half of 2016, the country imported more than 1.13 million tons of oil, more than 830 thousand tons of meal and more than 200 thousand tons of liquid vegetable oils. In addition, the second half of the year on the background of products stocks reduction the intensification of oils import in the country is expected. We already actively supply products for export and see a great interest of Iranian buyers in our company's products. At the moment we are negotiating on the supply of oils and meals to this country".

At the same time, one of the main problems hindering the development of the Fat&Oil industry in the Republic, remains an acute shortage of raw materials, connected with low seed yield and small gross yield, and also with the zero oilseeds fees, which creates prerequisites for their exports.

"Speaking of exports, we need to focus on creating a maximum added value inside the country and on protection of domestic producers and processors", – said Konstantin Simonov.
