Kazakhstan increases export of bottled oil in Uzbekistan

23 September 2016, Almaty, Kazakhstan – LLP "EFKO ALMATY", one of the largest Fat&Oil enterprises in Kazakhstan, announces the start of bottled vegetable oils’ delivery for export. The first batches of brands "Sloboda" and "Sun crown" sunflower oil, produced in Almaty from local raw materials, in the amount of more than 500 tons have been exported to Uzbekistan.

The event is a landmark for the Republic. According to General Director of LLP "EFKO ALMATY" Nurzhan Kozhamuratov, a few years ago Kazakhstan was a net importer of vegetable oils. "Now our country is able to supply high quality and competitive Fat&Oil products for export. Start of exports to Uzbekistan is only the first step in the expansion of the Kazakhstan export potential. In the company's plans is to expand the geography of exports, including Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan and other countries".

The line of bottled vegetable oil packaging was launched at 1 July 2016 under a national teleconference with the participation of President of the Republic. "To expand the large areas of crop production, to produce more oil as an export product of high quality and competitive product is your main task (LLP "EFKO ALMATY")", – said Nursultan Nazarbayev.

Launch of new capacities became the next stage of the project to create a unique Fat&Oil cluster in the territory of the Republic, which main task is to create a vertically-integrated business model "from the field" to the "final product". The result of the project will be an increase in production of the raw material (sunflower seeds and soya beans), and of the final fat products that not only meet the domestic needs of Kazakhstan, but will be widely available for export, so that by 2025 the Republic of Kazakhstan may become the key supplier of Fat&Oil products in the countries of Central Asia.
