13 May 2016 – EFKO Group, the largest vertically integrated holding on the Russian Fat&Oil market, held the first Central Asia conference “Fat&Oil ingredients in food production”.

The event, whose participants were more than 100 food industry manufacturers from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, held in 27 and 28 April in Almaty.

_MG_4231-1.JPGFor two days participants discussed the current state of the Fat&Oil industry, normative-technical regulation, the trend of production, economics aspects and many other issues related to the specifics of the food industry. Particular attention was paid to the production of Fat&Oil products with low content of trans unsaturated fatty acids (TUFA), which, according to recent studies, are one of the causes of cardiovascular disease. In accordance with the technical regulations of the Customs Union by 2018 for the introduction of legislation limiting the proportion of trans fatty acids in the confectionery fats to 2% is already provided, which means that all manufacturers of confectionery, baking and dairy industries will have to adopt new types of fats.

A nice gift to the participants at the end of the first day of the conference was a tour through the streets of the Kazakhstan "southern capital" - one of the most beautiful cities in the world and in Medeo.

Large investments were added in new production laboratory equipped with the most advanced European facilities. The laboratory specializes in the study of physical and chemical properties of fats and carries out quality control of each batch of finished product.

At the end of the plant tour guests took part in the green alleys laying and tree-planting. According to the plan, the alley will not only become a cozy place to maintain the natural purity of the production area territory, but also increase the Green Planet fund.
