08.12.2016_Almaty_invest-0696.jpgAt 8 November in Almaty was held a business program of the IV International investment forum ALMATY INVEST 2016, under which were discussed the investment possibilities of Almaty in five priority areas: trade and services, business tourism, public-private partnerships, industrial development, and food processing.

From the company "EFKO" the member of Board of Directors Vladislav Romantsev and the General Director of LLC "EFKO ALMATY" Nurzhan Kozhamuratov attended it.

Speaking to the participants of the forum during the panel session "Food industry Almaty: priorities and prospects", Vladislav Romantsev told about prospects of Kazakhstan oil branch development. In his speech, he noted the growing global food demand, which by 2050 will double. In addition, due to changes in the consumption structure, firstly, there will be a growing demand for meat, oilseeds and products of their processing and the deficit of these products in the Kazakhstan neighboring countries will increase. This opens up broad opportunities for development of Kazakhstan agribusiness complex and the expansion of the Republic export potential.

"By 2021, export of vegetable oil from Kazakhstan can grow up to 400 thousand tons, vegetable meals – up to half a million tons", he said in his speech. "The implementation of the project of Fat&Oil cluster creation in "EFKO ALMATY" will help to ensure such growth. Due to the production modernization and the transfer of world technologies the company has already managed to close the internal needs of the Republic and to begin deliveries of products for export to the countries of Central Asia, including China".

Specially Vladislav Romantsev focused on the realization of the food belt around Almaty, noting the need to make high-quality food products affordable to all sections of the population. "We need to ensure a sustainable agriculture development, and "EFKO ALMATY" is developing under this concept. We are active in increasing yields and overall gross yield of oilseeds in the country, including seed production, provide transfer of world agricultural technologies, support of agricultural producers, etc.", he said.

However, there are still some problems, and, primarily, they relate to unjustifiably high procurement prices on local oil raw materials. "Effective development is only possible with a fair distribution of margin between all market participants from producers to processors and manufacturers of finished products", said Mr. Romantsev.

Also under the forum a Memorandum on bilateral cooperation between the LLP "EFKO ALMATY" and the Administration of agriculture and veterinary of Almaty about project of Fat&Oil industry reconstruction and modernization in Almaty in the amount of 10.9 billion tenge was signed. Under the agreement, "EFKO ALMATY" took on obligations to ensure priority conditions of the purchase and sale of goods of Kazakhstani producers.
